Getting Started

What is display advertising?

Display advertising is all of the billions of banner advertisements that you see displayed on all websites, when browsing on your computer, tablet, or phone.

What does Adacado do?

Adacado is a do-it-yourself platform that allows you to quickly, easily, and inexpensively build static or dynamic display advertisements and run them across the web and Facebook. Stay tuned for more social channels in the future!

How do I use Adacado?

It’s as easy as creating an account and naming your first campaign. After that, you can select a pre-built template and customize your advertisements as you like.

How much does it cost to use Adacado?

  1. That depends on…
    1. You want Adacado to do it all (build ads and buy media).
      1. You pay Adacado for the ads (impressions) you run on a CPM rate (cost per thousand impressions). This CPM rate will include the media and your creative costs. You will also pay a nominal fee for processing product updates, if you are using product feeds. You can further control your ad spend by choosing to run ads only on specific days of the week.
    2. You want Adacado to do everything except buy media (you have that already).
      1. You pay Adacado for the ads (impressions) you run on a CPM (cost per thousand impressions), which ranges from $0.95 to $0.22, based on an Advertiser’s monthly volume. There is also a nominal fee for processing product updates, if you are using product feeds.
    3. In both cases you only pay for what you run. (see Pricing for details.)

How do I pay for Adacado?

You enter your credit card and Adacado will automatically bill you. Amounts billed are easily verified with our real time invoice dashboard.

How long do I have to wait to see results through my ad campaigns?

  1. Great question! The simple answer is: within days. But the real question is how long until I can see relevant and actionable results? For every campaign this is different. But generally you want enough ads served so you can measure performance against what is called a statistically relevant sample. Sounds complicated but it’s not; it’s just common sense.
    1. Some tips on how to think about this:
      1. Set a reasonable budget – spread it over weeks/ months if it makes sense.
      2. What’s my goal/ measurement; traffic or sales (if sales, by product, or overall).
      3. You will generally need 100+ clicks before you can expect to see anything.
      4. Lastly, measure your clicks over consecutive periods of time, as display ads are powerful reinforcement ads, which improve performance with more views. 

How long should I plan to run my campaign?

  1. Like Google Ads (formerly AdWords), once you find a display advertisement that works (delivers expected results), then you should run it forever; adjusting offers, refreshing creative, managing budgets, etc.
  2. If it’s making money, why would you turn it off?

How can I get the best results through Adacado?

Start simple, create a static ad and target very broadly. Once you can see enough data/ results, begin your advertising journey and refine anything, even everything as desired.

How do I run ads on Facebook?

It’s easy, simply click on “Serve My Ads” and in the “Ad Delivery Settings” select “Run Facebook Ads”. From there, you will start building out your Facebook campaign.

Can I stop a campaign at any time?

For sure. Just turn it off, with Adacado you only pay for what you use.

Note: To disable your account completely, you must disable all active advertisers.

Creative/Templates

What is a template?

Templates are the creative look of an ad and the information used within the ad. A template has a defined size (e.g. 300×250 pixels) and typically includes text and image widgets.

What are the different ad formats?

Ad formats vary depending on where your ads are being distributed. There are specific formats for desktop (ie. 300×250) and for mobile (ie. 300×50).

How do I build an ad?

In Adacado, it’s simple. Simply choose a pre built template from the template library, and upload your images, CTA and headline. You also have the option to build your own from scratch.

Can I preview my ads before publishing them?

Yes. Adacado automatically generates a custom preview link so you and your teammates/clients can preview your ads in real-time.

Note: You must have a valid credit card entered into the system, and media channel turned on.

What type of ads can I run?

Display (ads on websites) and social ads (ads on Facebook) – static or dynamic (product based ads). Refer to our support doc to learn more about static vs dynamic ads.

Can I advertise multiple products in an ad?

That’s what dynamic ads are all about. Instead of having to build individual ads for every product you have, dynamic ads will take a list of product information (aka a ‘data feed’) and automatically show different content in the ad, depending on how you set up your campaign.

How do I upload my product data/what is the file format?

You can upload your product feed in Adacado’s ‘Product Data’ settings. The file formats include: HTTP/HTTPS (e.g. a simple Google Sheet), or via FTP. Learn more about uploading your data feeds here.

What is the easiest way to create a product data feed?

Ad Delivery

What are media channels?

As the expression goes, ‘location, location, location!’ All advertising consists of the content (what you see) and the media (where the content is seen). Media channels are avenues for which your ads are delivered. Adacado currently offers 3 different media channels: web ads, Facebook ads, and through your chosen DSP (ad tags).

Can I run my ads through Adacado?

Yes! We’ve simplified the media buying process so you don’t need to worry about DSPs, or hiring a media buyer. Adacado handles it all.

To run ads through Adacado, go to ‘view media channels’ on the campaign list page and select ‘run web ads’.

Who will see my ads?

You choose! Select specific categories of websites and audience demographics to define where your ads will run, and who will see them. Or if you want to run social ads, get seen on Facebook.

How much does it cost to run media?

Decide how many ads you want to run each day and you’ll see the estimated cost. We may charge less (based on the buy), but we will never charge more.

Which DSPs are Adacado compatible with?

Our most popular DSP’s are: Centro (Basis), Xandr, The Trade Desk, and Google, however you can choose to customize your adtags to work with any DSP.

Can I also run my ads through social media?

Yes, you can connect to your Facebook business account in Adacado and traffic your ads through Facebook.

To run ads through Facebook, go to ‘view media channels’ on the campaign list page and select ‘run Facebook ads’.

What do I need to use Facebook through Adacado?

How do they work?

Initially, you will choose the business you are in i.e. retail and if you want to run static or dynamic ads. From there, you will be given a variety of options based on your business and type of ad you want to run. Adacado’s automated system will then build a campaign for you.

What type of businesses can use these Campaign Solutions?

Adacado offers all users a variety of campaign solutions for different business types, so you can choose the one that best suits your campaign goals. Currently we offer: retail, auto, real estate, hotel/travel and services.

Quick Start

What is Quick Start?

The Quick Start Guide is the easiest way to create simple, static/brand awareness ads in just a few steps. Simply upload your logo, image and text and Adacado will do the rest for you.

How does the Quick Start work?

The quick start is just 4 easy steps:

  1. You will be asked to provide some information about your business i.e. company/advertiser name, the type of business you’re in, where your business is located etc.
  2. You will be asked to pick from Adacado’s top performing campaign solutions
  3. Upload your logo, image and fill your ad with some text
  4. Review your ad and start running it!

What are the benefits of Quick Image?

When using Quick Image, you are eliminating the need to manually upload images, saving time and creating a more seamless workflow.

Shoppable Ads/Shopify

What are shoppable ads?

Shoppable ads are ads that have an in-checkout option. This means, users are able to make a purchase directly from an ad they are viewing as opposed to remembering an ad they saw and buying the product later on.

Who can run shoppable ads?

Currently Adacado is integrated with Shopify. Any Shopify user can run shoppable ads with their Shopify products. Stay tuned for more integrations to come!

Will my ad retargeting still work?

Yes it will shift over to our new retargeting process, seamlessly. Our new solution covers all major browsers, including Google Chrome, Safari and Firefox.

What do I need to do when setting up a new retargeting ad?

Same as before, simply place the Adacado pixel on your advertiser’s website and select ‘retargeting’ as your campaign objective.

Freemium Advertising

How does freemium work?

Sign up and start advertising for free. Your freemium ads will contain a ‘Freemium Ads by Adacado’ watermark at the bottom of your ads. You are limited to 100 impressions/day and 50 products total.

If you want to serve more ads, you can add your credit card and select more impressions (only the first 100 impressions per day/ 50 products will be free).

Do I need to input a credit card?

No, you are entitled to 100 impressions/day with freemium.

What if I want to serve more impressions?

You will need to input a credit card to serve more impressions.

How many advertisers can I have running Adacado Freemium Ads?

Only 1 advertiser per billing account.

Which media channels can I use?

With the freemium option, you can only use Adacado’s media buy option. But, with a credit card you can serve through any channel, serve as many ads as you want and process as many products as you like (1st 100 impressions will have a watermark on the ad and will be free).

How long does the freemium go for?

The freemium option is valid until you turn it off in the application (free forever). You may turn this option off on the billing settings page – if you wish.

Which ad formats can I use?

For the freemium option you can use 300×250 and 728×90.
