Access Your Ad Delivery Settings

To get started, create an advertiser and a campaign and access your campaign’s “Ad Delivery Settings” to start building your first Facebook ads.

Open “Ad Delivery Settings” by clicking “SERVE MY ADS” or the schedule tab in the campaign view footer or by clicking “Serve My Ads” in the campaign dropdown.

You can also access settings from the campaign list page by clicking the “View Media Channels” button.

On the “Ad Delivery Settings” page, you have the option to run your ads on the web or Facebook, or run your ads through an external publisher/DSP. Click the “Customize” button to the right of the “Run Facebook Ads” channel.

You are now on the Facebook channel configuration page where you can build and run Facebook ads.

How to Configure Your Facebook Media Channel

To begin running Facebook ads with Adacado, you’ll first need to prepare the following:

After you have created all the necessary Facebook accounts and pages, you can login to Facebook from the Facebook channel configuration page and begin configuring your settings.

1. Login to Facebook and Select Your Advertising IDs

First, click on the blue Facebook Login button and you’ll see two pop-ups in turn, requesting permission for Adacado to access your Facebook information.

These settings are required by Facebook and by clicking the “Continue” button, you will allow Adacado to receive ongoing access to the information you share, and Facebook will record Adacado’s access to that information.

The first pop-up requests access to your name and profile picture. Click the “Continue” button to go to the next step.

NOTE: This is a default setting required by Facebook for Adacado to access your public page.  Adacado does not use your name and profile picture for building and running your Facebook ads through Adacado.

The second pop-up requests permissions to manage ads for ad accounts that you have access to, manage your business, manage your product catalogs, read content posted on the Page and show a list of the Pages you manage.

You can click the “Continue” button for the next step or click “Choose what you allow” before clicking the “Continue” button to see more details. All fields in the “Choose what you allow” list must be enabled in order to continue creating Facebook ads with Adacado.

After you give Adacado permission to access your information on Facebook by clicking “Continue”, your Business ID, Ad Account ID and Page ID will automatically be populated into each ID field. Also, when all ID fields are filled in, the orange “Login to Facebook” text next to the individual account login request in the top grey box will change to “Complete” in green.

For an ID field with more than one ID associated with your Facebook account, the orange text next to the individual account login request in the top gray box prompts you to select one from the dropdown of the ID field. You can select an ID by clicking the down arrow to the right of each ID field to open a dropdown.

2. Configure Targeting and Date Range

Once your Business ID, Ad Account ID and Page ID are populated, the next step is to configure targeting, scheduling and budgeting to serve your ads on Facebook.

Campaign Objective

Click on “Campaign Objectives” and choose the target for the ad type that best suits your business. The default ad type is static ads and the default target for the static ads is set to  “Reach”. You can learn more about how each target works by hovering over each target or selecting a target and then reading the “Objectives Summary” in the grey box at the bottom of the pop-up.

First, decide which types of ads are best for your business, then choose the campaign goals you want to achieve by running your ads.

Static Ads

  • For businesses with few products to sell
  • Requirements: Image and text assets

Static ads show the same information every time they are viewed and can be made much simpler. The image and text you add to this configuration page will determine how your ad will look, and what you see in the Ad Preview section is the ad that will appear on Facebook.

Dynamic Ads

  • For businesses with large product inventories
  • Requirements: A data feed to set up product data with Adacado. Every product in your feed must have an image and product link.

Dynamic ads allow you to advertise many products or services, dynamically changing the products shown to viewers. Currently, creating dynamic Facebook ads with Adacado will only show one product ad at a time, and carousel ads will be added in the future.

Who We’re Targeting

Click “Who We’re Targeting” and set audience targets that best fit your campaign goals. By default, Adacado will target as wide an audience as possible, and you can narrow audience targets by age, genders, interests, employment, life events and languages.

NOTE: If the selected targeting has made the audience too narrow, you will be prompted to reset the audience targets.

When Ads Run

Click “When Ads Run” and set your ad delivery schedule and budget.

By default, if you enable the “Run Facebook Ads” channel, your ads will be served immediately after creative approval, the end date will be set to “Never Expires”, and your ads will run daily from 6am to 10pm on a daily budget of $10 USD.

Scheduling

If you want to serve your ads for a specific time period, you can schedule a date range by selecting the start and end dates from the calendar. The status of the channel must be “ACTIVE” on the “Ad Delivery Settings” page for the schedule to take effect.

If you have multiple media channels active in your campaign, you can view the earliest start date and latest end date of all active media channels in the schedule tab of the campaign footer.

NOTE: Ad schedule is based on individual ad viewer time zone.

Budgeting

You can adjust daily spend limits as well as your daily time schedule by clicking (and dragging) to toggle ad serving for any given hour.

This setting is where you allocate your daily budget for running your ads in a timely manner. If you want to spend more or less budget per day or change the days and times when ads are shown to viewers, you can adjust settings here.

NOTE: The minimum daily spend for Facebook is $1.30 USD

Where We’re Targeting

Click “Where We’re Targeting” and set the location target where you want your ads to appear (e.g. country and state/province/region). The default location is set only if the advertiser’s location is available as a Facebook location. Some countries/regions/cities do not match up between advertiser’s location and Facebook location options. If no default is set, users will still need to manually enter location targeting by selecting the “Configure your own area”.

What To Target

Click “What to Target” and set device targeting as desired. By default all devices, operating systems, and browsers will be targeted unless you choose to narrow them down.

Configuration and Targeting Summary

When you’re done configuring your targeting, scheduling and budgeting, check your configuration and targeting summary to make sure everything is set up as intended. You can go back to each section at any time and adjust the settings.

3. Ad Content

This section is where you create your Facebook ads. You can create static or dynamic ads depending on your selected campaign objectives.

Static Ads

1. Ad types are automatically defined according to the selected campaign objective.
2. Click the “Upload an Image” box and upload your own image or choose one from our “Free-to-use image library”.
3. Add your message and website URL. The default URL is the advertiser URL you added when you created your advertiser.
4. Preview your ad in the “Ad Preview” on the right.

Example:

Dynamic Ads

1. Ad types are automatically defined according to the selected campaign objective.
2. Add a data feed to generate product data with Adacado. Every product in your feed must have an image and product link.
3. Place text placeholders in appropriate positions.
4. Preview your ad in the “Ad Preview” on the right. The first product in your campaign product list will appear in the “Ad Preview”.

Example:

4. Turn it On!

After configuring all the settings and adding images/text or data feeds to create your ads, you will need to enter your payment information to activate your Facebook channel and run your ads on Facebook.

In the top right corner of the platform header, click on your account’s username and then click on “Account & Payment Info”.

Click on “Billing” in the left navigation bar and enter your credit card information and billing address.

After entering your payment information, turn on the switch under the “Turn it On” text on the configuration page of the “Run Facebook Ads” to start serving Facebook ads through Adacado.

Now you are all set! When your Facebook channel is “ACTIVE” or “SCHEDULED”, ads will begin serving viewers immediately or on schedule.
